Specialty Abrasives is a business unit within Saint-Gobain Ceramic Materials that focuses on manufacturing highly engineered specialty abrasives to serve any industries requiring extremely tight tolerances in demanding applications. Our Specialty Abrasives are widely used in applications such as electronics, automotive, semiconductors, metallographic, and optics/electro-optics.
Our core competency is in designing, developing and commercializing products by controlling physical and chemical properties of materials, and finding innovative solutions to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Our products are mostly oxides and carbide based abrasives, such as aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide, boron carbide, and silicon carbide. Although our division, Saint-Gobain Ceramic Materials, carries a much broader range of abrasive products and sizes, Specialty Abrasives focuses on abrasive sizes ranging anywhere from 5 microns down to 40 nanometer.
